RESEARCH INTERESTS
We are fascinated by the dental innervation both as a sensory system with unusual properties and as a favorable model for addressing questions about how peripheral neurons interact with their target tissues. Current studies mainly involve morphological and cytochemical analysis (electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization) of dental neurons in animals with dental injuries and perturbed availability of endogenous nerve growth factor.
